A Time to Be Born

On November 26, 1965 in Washington, DC, the late Louis Brown Jackson Sr. and Amelia Jackson were blessed with a beautiful son, Louis Brown Jackson Jr.

A Time to Plant

Louis was educated in the District of Columbia Public School System and graduated from McKinley Tech High School in 1984.  As a member of the Varsity Football Team, he was one of the best defense players, hence his love for the Washington Redskins.  Upon graduation and the desire of driving tractor-trailers in his heart, Louis attended USA Training Academy in Newark, DE where he graduated top of his class receiving his Class A Commercial Driver’s License.

A Time to Love

On November 10, 2001, Louis was united in marriage to Laneka.  Adding to the love they shared, they were blessed with two handsome sons, Louis Brown Jackson, III and Lawrence Lowell Jackson who were the center of his world.

A Time to Reap

Louis accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized while attending Tried Stone Baptist Church.  He later became a member of Spirit and Life Church where he was a member of the Deacon Board.  After moving to Waldorf, MD, he joined Christian Unity Baptist Church where he looked forward to hearing the Praise Team sing and Pastor Blackmon nourishing his soul from the pulpit.

“Big Lou, with the Big Smile” as many affectionately called him, enjoyed golfing as his favorite sport. However, once his father-in-law introduced him to fishing, he loved to be out on the water tossing a line.  What he enjoyed most was spending time with his wife and sons. No matter how tired he was or how late he got home from work, “Babe, Trey and Pudgy” were always his first priority.  Louis is most remembered with a smile that would light up a room.  No matter when or where you saw him, his pearly whites would be the first thing to greet you.

He began his driving career at Interstate Van Lines.  After driving for a few years, Louis decided he wanted to join corporate America.  He began working for Systems Planning and Analysis where he met and married the love of his life Laneka. However, with the desire for the open road still in his heart, he returned to driving tractor trailers until his passing.

A Time to Die

On Monday, July 9, 2007, Louis departed this life suddenly, but peacefully, at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC.
